Founder Deon Thomas discovered her love for breaking at a young age. In high school, she was finally able to join a breaking crew. There she experienced a community that encouraged personal growth while also supporting each other--a powerful combination for self-development. In 2017, she began teaching breakdance from her home. As interest grew, she founded Breakin Circles in 2019. To expand the company’s impact and provide more frequent and meaningful mentorship to the kids, Deon launched the Mentor Circle Foundation in 2025. The foundation focuses on mentorship, community building, events, and scholarships for young dancers to realize their dreams.
